Bathroom Storage = Makeup Chaos

When it comes to bathrooms, most of the storage is meant for things like towels and extra toilet paper. It doesn’t seem like anywhere is good for storing makeup. If that is how it seems in your bathroom too, these bathroom makeup organization ideas will be a huge help.

Let’s face it, no one wants to walk into their bathroom and see makeup scattered everywhere. Not only does it look bad but it also makes it hard to find what you are actually looking for.

Bathroom Makeup Organization Idea #1: Baskets

Baskets are your best friend when it comes to trying to organize makeup. It is the easiest and fastest way to keep makeup together. You can store baskets on shelves, under the sink, from hooks – whatever works for your bathroom.

Bathroom Makeup Organization Idea #2: Pretty Flowerpots

Pretty flowerpots are a fun option for makeup storage too. You can either buy store bought pots that are already decorated, or you can paint them and decorate them to match the current theme in the bathroom.

I love using them to hold makeup brushes, eyeliners, lipliners, mascara, etc.

Bathroom Makeup Organization Idea #3: Apothecary Jars

Apothecary jars are common in bathroom decor so why not use them for storing your makeup? These are great for storing brushes or thin makeup pieces like lip gloss, lip pencils, eye pencils, and mascaras.

The bonus? They look great too! These acrylic ones are my favorite because they won’t shatter if they slip and fall.

Bathroom Makeup Organization Idea #4: Magnetic Make Up Board

These makeup boards are all the rage on Pinterest and Facebook. Thankfully, they’re also super easy to make!

Take a large sheet of metal and cover it with fabric. Place magnetic strips or dots on your makeup and – tada! – it will stick to the board. I’ve found that this is an easy way to organize the makeup pieces I use often.

Bathroom Makeup Organization Idea #5: Hair Care Organizer

When thinking of easy ways to organize makeup, try a hair care organizer like this one. It has space for brushes, drawers for organizing, and space for everything you need for your morning routine.

Bathroom Makeup Organization Idea #6: Over the Toilet Shelves

For a long time, I resisted putting shelves over the toilet. For some reason, I just imagined needing an engineering degree to make sure they were securely anchored and didn’t fall off the wall onto someone’s head.

The good news? You do not need to be a carpenter or an engineer to have shelves over the toilet! Ha!

Instead, you can use premade shelving units. These shelves are perfect for storing makeup. If you’re looking for a spot for the baskets that you’re using, these shelves work great too!

Corner shelves are great when you’re short on space. People rarely use the corners of the walls for anything, so corner shelves can be a perfect spot to place your makeup containers.
